Four decades of roofing experience

Nigel Washer started in the roofing industry in 1981. Since then his trade has taken him through Tauranga, Auckland, Brisbane and Samoa, roofing in climates from cyclone-prone Queensland to the tropics, before he settled in Marlborough and ran Quality Roofing out of Blenheim for 21 years.

Now based in North Canterbury, Quality Roofing brings that same experience to Christchurch, the Waimakariri and Selwyn districts and the wider South Island. The specialty has stayed constant throughout: long-run steel roofing and spouting, done properly, plus certified rubber membrane installation and the South Island installer role for the RIGS internal gutter replacement system.

The business has always been predominantly referral-based. We have roofed for multiple generations of the same families: the children and grandchildren of clients from the early Blenheim years. That kind of repeat custom is not won with advertising; it is earned one honest quote and one well-finished roof at a time.

How we work

• You deal with the tradesman. Nigel visits, quotes and works on your roof. There is no sales layer between you and the person responsible.
• Honest assessments. If a repair will do, we quote a repair. If the roof is finished, we show you why.
• Complete service. Insulation, purlins, fascia, chimney removal and disposal are all handled within the one job, so you rarely need other contractors.
• Our own safety gear. Edge protection, harnesses and scaffold are ours, which keeps costs down and scheduling under our control.
• Public liability insurance and LBP licensing on every job.
